Biggy Music lines up eight tracks here, and the guest list tells you straight away that Herbal World Anthemz is aimed at the herb-conscious side of 2016 dancehall: Darrio and Nature kick things off with “Gimme The Weed, ” then Jah9’s “The Marijuana” and Jesse Royal’s “Finally” keep the roots-minded energy moving. The cuts lean more low-slung than frantic, with that smoky, midtempo pulse that leaves room for the hooks and the message to breathe, while Teflon’s “High Grade Blaze” pushes the chanty side a little harder. Released April 15, 2016, the set runs just 30 minutes and closes with Biggy Music’s own “Steamaz Dub, ” a dubby instrumental that tidies up the whole project without losing the haze.
