Biggy Music’s Steamaz Riddim sits right in the producer’s 2015 run, after earlier work like Red Tam and Caribbean Party, and you can hear the same lean, self-assured approach here: a herbs-themed reggae juggling with a dry, forward-driving bounce that gives Jesse Royal’s “Finally” and Deep Jahi’s “Till A Morning” the most immediate pull. Biggy had already been making noise as the former half of Razz and Biggy, and this set leans into that “ruff edge” feel he’s known for, with the hooky pressure of Sagitarr’s “Highest” and Kerry Starr’s “My Grade” sitting neatly beside the more conscious cuts. The project keeps the focus tight, with seven songs from seven artists, including Ragga Lox and Cool Shade, and the original release landed digitally on October 16, 2015.
