Morgan Heritage’s “People Hungry” and Chuck Fender’s “Herbalist Farmer” keep the message sharp, and Duane Stephenson’s “Marijuana” rides the groove with a cleaner, more laid-back touch. The production sits in that sturdy one-drop pocket, with enough weight in the bass to keep the whole thing moving.
