DEAD END RIDDIM produced by MARKUS RECORDS 2012
Dead End Overview
The Dead End Riddim came together in 2012, inside a Kingston studio alive with creative energy. Producers and artists gathered to build a dancehall set that would soon take over parties across Jamaica. At the center was MARKUS RECORDS, a label known for pushing new sounds in the dancehall scene. Founded by Markus Myrie, son of reggae legend Buju Banton, the label had already made a mark with several popular riddims and collaborations. The beat for Dead End Riddim was crafted with a driving, bass-heavy style. The producer wanted something that would get crowds moving, but also allow artists to show their lyrical power. This approach shaped the entire project, giving each track a unique energy while keeping the vibe consistent. Blak Ryno led the charge with "Dangerous," a track that quickly became a favorite among selectors. His sharp delivery matched the riddim’s intensity. Bounty and Iyara teamed up for "Dat Mi Say," bringing classic hardcore dancehall flavor. Their voices bounced off each other, making the tune a real crowd-puller. Chan Dizzy’s "Fear No Evil" added a conscious message, while Elephant Man’s "We Nuh Like Raper" used his signature style to address serious topics. Flexxx kept the momentum high with "Who Badda," another tune that filled dance floors. Other key tracks included Frisco’s "Send Dem Home," Kaliba’s "Anything A Anything," Kiprich’s "Bakklefield," Mascika’s "We Bad Fi Real," and Ninja Kid’s "Smell Di Ting A Bun." Each artist brought their own twist, making the Dead End Riddim a standout moment in dancehall history. Crowds still remember how this bashment project ruled the parties of its time.
