During the 2016 carnival season, the streets of Trinidad and the wider Caribbean came alive with the sound of soca. Parade trucks rolled down the road, dancers followed, and the crowd wanted music that kept the energy high. One of the most popular flows that year was built on the Conect Riddim, a compilation that brought together some of the scene’s most exciting voices. The producer behind this riddim was FOX FUSE, a label known for releasing and distributing Caribbean music worldwide. FOX FUSE has played a key role in helping soca and dancehall reach new audiences, with many of their releases appearing on digital charts and streaming platforms. Conect Riddim gave a platform to three standout artists. College Boy Jesse delivered the track "Better Now," showing his catchy style and lyrical skill. Lyrikal, well known for his hit "Loner" from 2019, brought the song "Feting Victim" to this project, adding his signature party vibe. Skinny Fabulous, a Vincentian artist who won the 2019 International Soca Monarch title, energized the riddim with "Trouble." Together, these songs made the Conect Riddim a favorite for DJs and partygoers. In 2016, it was hard to find a fete or parade where these tracks were not played, making the riddim a true highlight of that year’s carnival season.
