Already in the Fox Fuse 2018 run, Thriller Riddim keeps the focus on a lean soca set, with five voices cutting across the same frame: Sick-O on “Doh Call Me Name, ” Jah Brim Stone on “Waiting Too Long, ” Tonick on “Trouble, ” Loose Cannon on “Opposite Jab, ” and Skinny Banton closing with “Damage It. ” Issued June 1, 2018 through Fox Fuse with Huntta Flow Production as label partner, it plays like a compact Carnival tool rather than a sprawling showcase, and the writing stays close to the rhythm’s job. The cuts are built for movement, with a brisk pace and a hard, steady bassline that leaves room for the vocals to jab, call, and ride the groove without crowding it.
