COME AROUND RIDDIM produced by HI GRADE HI-FI RECORDS 2021
Come Around Overview
The story of the roots instrumental behind the 2021 Come Around Riddim began with a simple but powerful idea: bring together artists and producers who could create conscious reggae music with a modern touch. The foundation builder of this riddim was a deep, steady bassline that echoed classic roots reggae but felt fresh and alive. This instrumental laid the groundwork for everything that followed. At the heart of the project was HI GRADE HI-FI RECORDS, a label known for its commitment to authentic reggae sounds. The label has built a reputation for uplifting messages and quality productions, and has seen its releases streamed across digital platforms worldwide. With a careful approach, HI GRADE HI-FI RECORDS guided the riddim’s development, ensuring every element supported the roots message. Once the instrumental was crafted, a select group of artists was invited to voice the riddim. Jugganaut brought his distinct style to “Karma,” while Richie Culture delivered “Steppin’,” adding his own conscious lyrics. K Dottie teamed up with Jugganaut for “One by One,” bringing a collaborative energy. Diamond White contributed the powerful “Babylan System,” and Robbie Melody joined Richie Culture for the dub-heavy “Dubbin’.” Richie Culture also offered “Hi Grade Dub,” and together with Robbie Melody, created “Come Around Melodica Version.” Each artist added their own flavor, but the roots instrumental held everything together. By the time the riddim was released, it was clear that this project carried reggae’s message strongly in 2021, blending tradition and modernity for both playlists and sound systems.
