The Chuku Chuku riddim keeps things lean and party-ready, with a brisk, waistline-friendly soca pulse that feels aimed straight at Carnival season. Jrod Records only lines up two vocal cuts here, but both carry their own weight: Denise Belfon’s “Chuku Chuku” leans into her trademark teasing delivery, while Kes The Band’s “Never See Come See” gives the riddim a smoother, more melodic push. The project surfaced in late 2013 and was issued as a short four-track set under the Chuku Chuku Riddim / Trinidad and Tobago Carnival 2014 banner, so it’s very much one of those pre-Carnival warmups built for DJs and fete crowds. The final instrumental closes the package cleanly and leaves the rhythm section doing the talking.
