Dunwell Productions dropped Charge Up Riddim in July 2019, and it fits neatly into Mario “Dunw3ll” Dunwell’s run of clean, contemporary dancehall juggling. By then, Dunwell had already established himself as a producer with a sharp ear for club-ready arrangements and a catalogue that reached artists like Vybz Kartel, Shenseea, Dexta Daps, and Popcaan. Charge Up sits in that lane: crisp drums, a taut bassline, and a tense, forward-driving groove that leaves enough space for each artist to stamp their own style on it.

Popcaan’s “Nah Run” gives the riddim its biggest name and a relaxed, coasting confidence, while Masicka’s “Charge Up” sharpens the title theme with the militant phrasing and hard-edged delivery he has made his calling card. Quada’s “Problem” keeps the energy aggressive, and Chronic Law and Kash’s “Good Weed” adds a darker, streetwise note. Munga Honorable’s “Outside” brings veteran flair and a broader melodic swing, while Jahvillani’s “People” pushes the tougher side of modern dancehall with his gravelly patter.
