Fight Riddim (2019) – Attomatic Records

Attomatic Records kept Fight Riddim short and sharp, and that suits the title. The 2019 dancehall set pulls together three cuts from Chronic Law, Deep Jahi, and Squash, with the production credit going to Atto Wallace’s Attomatic imprint. It arrived on January 25, 2019 as a three-song digital release, and the whole thing runs barely seven minutes, so there’s no room for filler.

The rhythm itself has that hard-edged, clash-ready dancehall feel: lean drums, a punchy bounce, and enough empty space for each deejay to drive the hook home. Chronic Law’s Born Fi Dis opens with the kind of rough, street-minded delivery he has become known for, and Deep Jahi follows with Out Yah, a cut that plays to his forceful singjay style and direct phrasing. Squash closes with Fight, the earliest of the three tracks to surface, and he draws on the gritty, militant tone that helped define his rise out of Montego Bay’s Salt Spring area.

What makes the riddim work is how neatly it matches the artists. Chronic Law brings pressure, Deep Jahi adds a taut, forward-moving chant, and Squash gives it the rawest edge of the bunch. Attomatic Records had already been building a name through dancehall-forward productions, and Fight Riddim sits comfortably in that lane: compact, confrontational, and made for sound system rotation.
