1option Riddim – Attomatic Records / Hemton Music

Attomatic Records and Hemton Music were already deep in the modern MoBay dancehall wave by the time 1Option Riddim arrived on August 30, 2019. The pair had built a lane around street-level trap-dancehall and the artists orbiting the 6ix movement, with Atto Wallace of Attomatic and Mario “Din Din” Hemmings of Hemton leaning into a sound that was already reshaping the island’s radio and juggling circuit.

1Option is a dark, tense riddim with a clipped bounce that leaves plenty of room for the vocals to cut through. The production sits in that late-2010s dancehall pocket where the drums feel sharp and mechanical, the bass is heavy but not muddy, and the whole thing carries a grim, competitive mood. It sounds made for war-talk, flexing, and coded street commentary rather than singalong hooks.

Squash’s “1Option (Badman Law)” sets the pace with the kind of terse, menacing delivery that made him one of the defining voices of the 6ix era. Chronic Law follows on “Cyaa Lonely” with a colder, more reflective pressure, while Daddy1’s “Anthem” pushes the project toward broad crowd rhetoric. Bobby 6ix and Big Voice sharpen the rivalry energy on “Lavish Badness, ” and T-Jean’s “Team Work” adds a more collective, hustler-minded angle. Rebel and K Lion’s “Mash” is another strong cut, built for the darker end of the dancehall circuit, while Riigz’s “Everything Is Alright” and Leyavo’s “Company” help round out a release that feels tightly aligned to the street-conscious sound of 2019 dancehall.
