Buy Out Riddim - K-licious Music

Released in 2001, Buy Out Riddim highlights the creativity of 2001 – K-LICIOUS MUSIC in shaping dancehall riddim. Mr Easy – Drive Me Crazy, Beenie Man – Miss L. A. P, Notch – Nuttin No Go So step up to infectious productions, each adding bold energy to the mix. The riddim thrives on yard party energy, giving it focus. It stands as a powerful example of quality work in the scene. Anthemic hits!.

Tony “CD” Kelly’s K-Licious Music was already a heavyweight imprint by the time Buy Out Riddim landed in 2001, and this juggling sits right in the sweet spot of his clean, punchy dancehall sound. The riddim is brisk and bright, with a hard bounce that leaves plenty of room for hooky chants, swaggering talk-sings, and radio-ready refrains. Sean Paul’s Like Glue became the breakout cut, and it’s easy to hear why: the cadence is sharp, the hook is sticky, and the rhythm gives it the kind of forward motion that made early-2000s dancehall travel far beyond Jamaica. Beenie Man’s Miss L. A. P. and Mr. Easy’s Drive Me Crazy bring the same clipped, high-energy feel, while T. O. K. ’s Money To Burn adds group interplay and a little more attack.

The lineup reads like a snapshot of the era’s crossover push. Sean Paul was on the rise into global stardom, Beenie Man was already one of dancehall’s defining voices, and T. O. K. had built a reputation for tight harmonies and sly, streetwise deliveries. Notch’s Nuttin Nuh Go So adds a more playful edge, and Tanto Metro and Devonte’s That Fire brings the duo chemistry that helped make them dependable riddim players. Bud, Sadeki, Elan, Spragga Benz and Twice, Voice Mail, and Gabriel widen the set without losing the project’s momentum.

Buy Out works because it feels engineered for juggling: a strong central groove, multiple voices, and enough variation to keep the energy moving without breaking the spell.
