Burdz Overview
The Burdz Riddim made its mark during the 2012 Trinidad and Tobago Carnival season. This energetic soca soundtrack powered many parties and parades that year, quickly becoming a favorite on the road. A big part of the riddim’s success came from its lineup of talented artists. Erphaan Alves brought his song "On D Spot" to the project. Alves is known for his strong songwriting skills and has been part of the soca scene since his teenage years. Machel Montano, one of the most famous names in soca, added "Time For Work" to the riddim. Montano has won multiple Road March titles and is respected for his long career and high-energy performances. The track "Bad" appeared twice on the riddim, first as Nebula868 Feat Swappi 4d — Bad, and also as Swappi 4d - Bad — Bad. Swappi 4d, who has made a name for himself with hits like "Bubble On A DJ," brought extra energy with his unique style. Shal Marshall also joined in with "Wine Yuh Body." Marshall is known not only as a soca artist but also as a popular radio host in Trinidad. The driving force behind the riddim was PRECISION PRODUCTIONS. This well-known production team from Trinidad has shaped many big soca hits and worked with top artists across the Caribbean. Their work on Burdz Riddim made sure the beats were bright and danceable, perfect for Carnival.
