Takeover Riddim (2004) – Precision Productions

Five cuts and a sharp little cast make Takeover Riddim feel more like a focused showcase than a crowded juggling, with 3 Suns opening the set on “Off The Chain” and Bunji Garlin linking with Benjai on the hard-charging “Dread” before Mista Vybe and Ms. Alysha close things out. Precision Productions keeps the riddim lean and direct, leaving room for the voices to cut through without piling on too much extra flash, which suits a 2004 dancehall release that’s meant to hit quick and move on. Dawg E Slaughter’s “Represent” sits right in the middle of the sequence and gives the whole thing a rougher edge, while the tracklist also includes “Up” and “Comin To Get Cha, ” rounding out the five-song run with no filler to spare.
