Bumpa Congo Overview
In 2014, the Bumpa Congo Riddim brought a new energy to dancehall. This bashment release quickly became a favorite for selectors looking to light up dancehall nights. At the heart of the project was ANCIENT RECORDS, a label known for shaping the modern sound of Jamaican dancehall. Founded by producer Jordan McClure, ANCIENT RECORDS has worked with some of the biggest names in the genre and is famous for its crisp, powerful production style. The mixing board king behind Bumpa Congo Riddim paid close attention to every detail. The recording process focused on clean, heavy bass and sharp drum patterns, making the riddim stand out in the dance. Each artist brought their own flavor, shaping the bashment flow and giving DJs plenty of fresh fire for their sets. Aidonia’s “Boom Pon It” was a standout, adding his signature rapid-fire delivery. Aidonia is well known for his hit “Yeah Yeah” and has been a key figure in dancehall for over a decade. Deablo delivered two tracks, “Buss It” and “Fuck It,” showing his versatility and strong presence on the riddim. Jayds, with “Tall Penis,” kept the energy high and the crowd moving. Nicko Blast’s “Stuck On You” and Onton’s “Kush” added even more variety, each track bringing a different style to the mix.
