By 2005, dancehall was deep in its mid-2000s riddim rush, and Bounce fits right into that period with a sharp, club-ready In The Streetz production that pulled in heavy hitters and sharp-tongued younger voices alike. Beenie Man’s “Pussy Edit, ” Buju Banton’s “Party Vibe, ” and Capleton’s “Tek Whe Dem Ak” set the tone, while Ce’Cile, Macka Diamond, Leftside and Esco, and Vybz Kartel keep the energy moving across the cut. The riddim itself lands with a taut, skipping pulse and enough low-end pressure to carry both the playful and more aggressive tunes, which is exactly why it became a strong vehicle for crossover names and street-side selectors.
