Coming out of Inspired Music Concepts in 2013, Bed Bruk Riddim sits in that late-2000s, early-2010s dancehall zone where the production is less flashy than functional, and that’s part of its appeal. The juggling pulls in 10 voices, with Masicka’s “Breed Her, ” Pamputtae’s “Party Party, ” and Teflon’s “Kick Boy” giving the set its strongest pull, while Della, Hollow Point, Rushelle, and the rest keep the pressure moving. The rhythm itself leans on a lean, hard-edged knock with clipped drum patterns and a low, steady bassline that leaves plenty of room for the vocals to cut through.
