Balanced on the lighter, skippier side of mid-2000s dancehall, this 2006 riddim keeps the focus on sharp percussion and a quick, springy pulse rather than heavy bass weight, which gives the whole thing a lean, road-ready feel. The three-track lineup is small but nicely split: Bunji Garlin turns “Patriots” into the commanding cut, Shak’s “Devil” leans harder into the darker edge of the rhythm, and C’s “Rags” adds a rougher, more streetwise finish. Bunji was already a magnetic name in the Caribbean circuit by then, and his presence helps anchor the set. With only three voices riding the same instrumental, the release feels like a snapshot of an era when dancehall riddims were kept tight, functional, and built for sound systems first.
