Babylonhorns Riddim – Bassix Riddim Cooperation

Out of the 2015 reggae shuffle, Babylonhorns came in with a lean, militant pulse that gave Bassix Riddim Cooperation room to stretch out a strong little various-artists set. Perfect Giddimani’s “Mighty Dread” is the track that grabs first, riding the rhythm with that weathered, righteous tone he does so well, while Delus’ “Youths” and Menny More’s “Any Day Now” keep the energy moving with a more reflective edge. The lineup is compact but nicely balanced, and the producer’s own version at the end lets the riddim breathe on its own, all horns and bass weight with just enough space between the ударs to keep it rolling. A seven-track run, and not a wasted one.
