Stuck On You Riddim – One Harmony

Sharon Forrester’s “It’s Was So Good” is the anchor here, and it sets the tone for Stuck On You Riddim before the rest of One Harmony’s 2015 five-track set settles into its lovers-rock mood. The cut runs slow and warm, with that laid-back, sentimental pull that suits Forrester’s voice, while Asante Amen’s “Miss Chocolate Brown Skin” and Fredlocks’ “Call On Me” keep the energy in a sweet, rootsy pocket. Glen Sloley’s “Lovers Rock Revival Party” leans right into the title’s nostalgia, and Sandeeno closes things out with “Rumours, ” giving the riddim a tougher edge at the tail end. It’s a compact release, but the sequence is smart, and Forrester’s opening performance leaves the strongest aftertaste.
