The best-known cut here is I-Roy’s Don’t Get Weary Joe Frazier, and the set also links to Tony Brevett’s original Don’t Get Weary, The Melodians’ take, and Tappa Zukie’s Don’t Get Crazy. Tony Brevett’s own version helps underline the riddim’s early roots connection, while the later Black Roots cut by Robert Emanuel and Ranking Simeon shows how the rhythm kept circulating into 1980.
