Teejay
Timoy Janeyo Jones, born on 3 October 1994 in Montego Bay, Jamaica, is a dancehall artist, songwriter, and producer. He is surely one of the rising youngsters in the dancehall genre. At the very tender age of 6, Teejay had shown interest in recording and his brothers began teaching him. It was easy for him to learn because they had a home studio. His talent was purely influenced by his siblings who formed a group at the time called C&C. Till today, all his 3 brothers are full time in the music industry so there was no way Teejay would have escaped the ‘musical calling’ since it is a family affair. At the age of 10, in 2005, he wrote his 1st song titled “I Know Jah.” When he was 14 years old, he wrote a song for Jamaican schools called “Schoolaz Antem”. He constantly performed at talent shows and events even at a young age. Teejay has done numerous music projects to advance his career. He has performed on a good collection of riddims and also completed a sizable number of tracks on compilations. He showcased himself in the 2017 Eagle riddim album alongside pioneers like Vybz Kartel. Teejay came together with other Jamaican artists and recorded the music video for “We Rise.” The artists included Konshens, Kash & RomeichTarrus Riley, Kemar Highcon, Shenseea, and Ding Dong. The theme of the video is inspired by working together to feed/care for the less fortunate in Jamaican communities. Teejay is currently working on penetrating the international scene.
