Spice

Grace Latoya Hamilton, born on 6 August 1982 in Spanish Town, St. Catherine, Jamaica and raised in Portmore. She is a dancehall singer, recording artist, and songwriter. Though having begun her career in the early 2000s, her 2009 single “Romping Shop” which she did with Vybz Kartel was very controversial. In 2000, she made her debut at the annual dancehall festival, Sting when she was given the opportunity to perform. VP Records released her debut EP “So Mi Like It” in 2014. Spice joined the cast of reality television series Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta in 2018 which aired on VH1. Spice only got to release her 1st proper project end of 2018 and her debut album is titled Captured. It made it to the Billboard Reggae Albums charts and her popularity as one of the female dancehall artists is so strong that she is now called the Queen of Dancehall. She was introduced to Dave Kelly of Madhouse Records towards the mid-2000s who produced a number of her singles like “Complain (Mi Gone)” and “Right There (Fix Me Good)” which had the Bad Gal riddim. At the Excellence in Music and Entertainment (EME)in 2009, Spice received an award for “Female Deejay of the Year.” She did a number of collaborations with artists like Mya and Missy Elliot. The video for her single “So Mi Like It” was released in January 2014 and was the most viewed video done by a female Jamaican artist. In May 2016, Spice has featured on many songs including Kid Ink’s single “Nasty” and she also featured Sean Paul on the remix of “Dumpling.” In 2020 she is working on her debut album under Shaggy productions.
