Kemar Donaldson was born in Montego Bay, Jamaica. He was introduced to reggae in his teens and when he moved to Miami, he was closer to his mentor and uncle, Screw Driver, a dancehall singer. He later on moved to New York. Donaldson broke out in 2013 with his hit single titled “Nobody Has To Know”. It was an independent release which attracted major labels which came calling. Donaldson then joined Wayne Wonder and Sean Paul to being the few reggae artists signed by a major label. In 2015, “Nobody Has To Know” was re-released by Antlantic and Donaldson entered the studio with producer Ricky Blaze to guest on his track “Overrated”. Later that year, Donaldson’s debut LP was released and it was titled “Rumors”. The LP brought singles like “Can’t Give A…”, Stamina and a version of “Nobody Has To Know” which featured Ty Dolla $ign and KickRaux. In 2016, Donaldson collaborated with Tory Lanez in “We Can” and he also collaborated with Ty Dolla $ign in 2017 on the single “Can’t Believe”. In 2019, Donaldson released his second album titled “Midnight Sparks”. In 2020, he released singles “I Got You” and “Gal Policy”.
