Summa 16 Riddim – Tj Records

Jamaica’s summer 2016 dancehall run was sounding extra sharp when TJ Records rolled out Summa 16 Riddim, a lean 10-track set that paired Vybz Kartel’s title cut with radio-ready turns from Kranium, Ishawna, Demarco, and the Chi Ching Ching/Gabbi Don combo. The riddim has that bright, club-friendly pulse TJ was leaning into at the time, and Kartel’s “Summa 16” gave the project its obvious anchor while Kranium’s “Fun” and Ishawna’s “Bathing Suit” kept the mood playful. TJ had already been feeding the lane with polished dancehall singles, and this one lands right in that sweet spot between street bounce and seasonal anthem. Even the clean and explicit versions of “Cheers” and “Fun” tell you this was meant to work everywhere, from radio to the dance.
