Labrish Riddim – Yardstyle Entertainment

Labrish Riddim belongs to the 2008 dancehall cycle, with its original circulating set centred on Jwizzle, Macka Diamond, Black-er and Kiprich, plus the version. The Yardstyle Entertainment presentation retains that small-riddim logic: a handful of distinct deejay cuts sharing one backing rather than a broad all-star compilation.

Jwizzle’s “Spin Yuh Roll” is especially important to the set’s identity, not least because the artist is also closely associated with Yardstyle Entertainment as JJWizzle. Macka Diamond’s “Badmind” gives the juggling a female voice and a direct counterweight to the men on the rhythm, while Kiprich’s “Wuk Fah” carries the recognisable title that has kept appearing alongside the Labrish selection in dancehall tracklists and mixes.

Black-er’s “A Wah Do Dem” completes the core four-cut sequence. This edition also lists Don Mafia’s “Model Fi Me” and a Jjwizzle instrumental, extending the familiar Labrish framework without turning the release into a crowded package. The instrumental matters: it leaves the common rhythm exposed after the vocal cuts and underlines the point of the project—the same track, opened up for several different voices and approaches.
