ALL PURPOSE RIDDIM was produced by Danny Browne for MAIN STREET PRODUCTIONS in 1999.
All Purpose Overview
All Purpose Riddim arrived in 1999 straight from Jamaica’s dancehall scene. This club-ready riddim quickly became a favorite in dance sessions, with selectors keeping it in heavy rotation. The sound stands out for its catchy groove and lively horn sections. Several top artists brought their energy to the All Purpose Riddim. Buccaneer & Mr. Vegas teamed up for “Weh Dem Woulda Do Hic,” a track that shows off both their unique styles. Mr. Vegas was already known for his 1998 hit “Heads High,” which made him a big name in dancehall worldwide. Crissy D delivered “Money Money,” adding her smooth voice to the mix. Future Trouble, famous for his song “Ganja Man,” came with “Living It Up.” General Degree, who had earlier success with “Traffic Blocking,” gave fans “Fun Ting.” Goofy, also known as Mr. G, added “Normal” to the riddim’s lineup. Behind the scenes, Danny Browne worked his magic as producer for MAIN STREET PRODUCTIONS. Browne is well-known in reggae and dancehall for creating popular riddims like “Filthy” and “Badda Badda.” His work has shaped the sound of late 1990s dancehall, making him a respected figure in the industry. In 1999, the All Purpose Riddim was a true bashment favorite, moving crowds and keeping dance floors packed.
