Acid Wash Overview
In 2013, dancehall was buzzing with a lively bashment flow. Parties and street dances across Jamaica and beyond were filled with high-energy beats and powerful lyrics. The “Acid Wash Riddim” became one of the standout sounds that year, shaping the direction of dancehall music. Behind this riddim was KHEILSTONE MUSIC, a producer and label known for creative and modern dancehall rhythms. KHEILSTONE MUSIC had already made a mark in the scene, and their work on the “Acid Wash Riddim” showed their skill in blending classic dancehall vibes with fresh energy. Their use of strong horn riffs and dynamic production gave the riddim its unique character. The riddim brought together some of dancehall’s well-known voices. Voicemail, famous for hits like “Wacky Dip,” delivered “Tup Up Loud,” a track that quickly became a favorite in parties. Delly Ranx, respected for his production and songs like “Pon Di Corner” with T.O.K., added his own flavor with “Put It In Deh.” DaVille, known for his smooth voice and the hit “Always on My Mind,” gave fans “No Behaivour.” Esco, part of the duo Leftside & Esco, contributed “Turn It,” while Kibaki, once a member of the Alliance crew, brought “Sell Out.” Da Professor’s “Come In My Room” and Kappa’s “Gyal Magnet” added even more variety. Of course, the riddim’s instrumental by Kheilstone Music itself was also popular. Looking back, the “Acid Wash Riddim” helped keep dancehall alive and exciting in 2013. Its bashment flow and strong lineup of artists made it a true street anthem.
