2wix Riddim – Genesiz Production

A tense little 2011 dancehall set, 2wix Riddim comes out of Genesiz Production with a rough-edged, jugglin’ feel and a broad enough cast to keep the energy shifting. Kalibwoy’s “Free Up” is one of the clearer touchpoints here, and Tiwony and Speedy’s “Dancehall Thing” pushes that same rowdy momentum from a different angle. The riddim also pulls in voices like 14Ro, Bidji, Ashaman and Mighty Kalimba, and Profa and Kalash, so the project moves between harder warning tunes and more party-minded cuts without losing its snap. Genesiz was active around this period on a few one-riddim projects, and this one is sequenced like a proper showcase: the tracks stack one after another in a way that keeps the pressure on rather than letting the groove drift.
