WUTENG RIDDIM PT. 2 – JUGGLERZ 2016

Perfect Giddimani and Deadly Hunta set the tone on Wuteng Riddim Pt. 2 with “Moving Forward, ” a cut that leans into the project’s rugged, hip-hop-tinged dancehall spirit without losing the rootsy pull that keeps the whole juggling grounded. Jugglerz had already framed Wuteng as part of a split-label idea, and this Wicked Vybz chapter carries that concept over with the same instrumental but a different set of voices, letting Exco Levi, Jah Mali, Turbulence and Lutan Fyah work the riddim from more conscious, chant-heavy angles. There’s a nice contrast between the sharper, more direct delivery on “Ride Natty Ride” and the heavier mood of “Ghetto Life, ” while Don Chizel’s “Bun Dem” closes things with a harder edge. It sits neatly in Jugglerz’s 2015-16 run of eclectic riddims, where concept and selector’s taste matter just as much as the bassline.
