Velocity Riddim finds Lenky Production back in that sharp, mid-2000s dancehall-reggae lane, with eight cuts and a tidy, fast-moving sequence that gives each voice a quick run. Zumjay’s “Been Dere Did It” is the obvious anchor, and Assassin turns in one of the sharper moments with “Smooth Operator, ” while Bling Dawg, Harry Toddler and Tornado keep the riddim moving with tunes that lean into attitude and streetwise patter. The production has that lean, clipped feel Lenky was known for around this period, letting the kick and bass do the heavy lifting without crowding the vocals. Califa’s “Sorry” and Stacrious’ “Better Than This” round out the set, and the closing version keeps the instrumental in play at the end.
