Unblock Riddim – Duffel Tream Entertainment

A grimy, mid-tempo dancehall swing drives Unblock Riddim, with a clipped bassline and a sparse, percussive pattern that leaves plenty of room for the vocals to cut through. Duffel Tream Entertainment keeps the lineup lean: Alien Murcury comes in tough on “Dem A Nuh Killa, ” Bad Blood leans into the street-code energy of “Hamma Knock, ” and Big Voice’s “Money Dealing” adds a sharper hustler’s edge. Cush Ites and Drizzy Fade keep the mood moving with the more playful “Wine Up” and “Flyer Than Beez, ” while Rybeena gets the cleanest showcase here with “Wife Yuh, ” strong enough to earn both a radio edit and the full cut. Released in 2018, it sits neatly in that period when compact one-riddim sets were still carrying a lot of the dancehall heat.
