Bubble Trouble Riddim – Leelo

Leelo Records’ Bubble Trouble Riddim keeps things tight and very much to the point: four cuts, three voices, and no wasted space. Released on March 9, 2018, the set pairs Braintear Spookie’s “Pluck Ova” and D’East’s “St88 To It” with Laden’s “Bubble Yuh Body, ” which comes back in a raw version for the dancers and selectors who want the vocal stripped down. The production sits in that mid-tempo dancehall pocket, with a clean, rubbery bassline and a bubbling drum pattern that leaves plenty of room for the riders to lean into the groove. Laden is the clear anchor here, especially on the original and raw takes, but the whole thing moves with the same clipped, forward-driving swing. It’s a short riddim built for movement, clocking in at just 12 minutes.
