Torch Riddim – Skitta Production

Seven cuts deep, Torch Riddim gets the usual multi-voice dancehall treatment without wasting time, lining up Chezidek, Cronsyncro, Cutty Corn, Fyah Ball, Shakespear, Teflon and Zamunda over Skitta Production’s 2011 rhythm. It’s the kind of juggling set that leans on a tight drum pattern and a weighty low end rather than flashy arrangement, with the songs riding close to the pocket and leaving space for the vocals to do the work. Chezidek’s “Never Talk About It” and Teflon’s “I’m Bless” feel like the clearest anchors here, while Cronsyncro’s “Fight Fi The Hype” pushes the tougher edge of the set. The riddim keeps a measured mid-tempo swing, with the bassline carrying most of the pressure and the singers coming in clean and direct.
