Bad Mind Riddim (2011) – Uprising Soundz

Dark and lean. Uprising Soundz keeps Bad Mind Riddim stripped to a tense, no-frills dancehall pulse, the kind of rhythm that leaves plenty of space for the voices to do the damage. Distance rides it with “Duh Duh Shanty, ” Hummy Bling comes through on “Blood A Run, ” and Junior X sharpens the mood further on “Clean Hands, ” so the whole set stays locked in that wary, bad-company energy the title promises. It’s a small three-track release, but that was part of the early-2010s dancehall moment too: compact riddims, blunt hooks, and songs built to cut fast and move on.
