Krysis Musik’s Upstage Riddim came through in 2011 with a tense, street-ready dancehall pulse: skittering percussion, a thick low end and just enough swagger to keep the cuts moving without ever getting too glossy. The lineup leans into that raw energy, with Sikka Rymes sounding especially at home on “She Freaky” and the bouncy “It Nuh Easy” alongside Stiliate and Elete Gauge, while X Facta’s “Pum Pum Fat” and Q Wes’ “She A Gwan Like Di Baddest” keep the flirtation and bragging in full effect. Acyd Reign, Chinsu, Draxx and Tussan round out the set with their own angles, but the riddim itself is the anchor, even appearing as its own instrumental cut. It sits right in that 2011 wave when dancehall productions were leaning hard into stripped-back, club-first rhythms built for selectors and sound systems alike.
