J. R. E Music keeps The West Indian Riddim lean and direct, cutting a 2012 dancehall set down to just three voices: Mestar Velon on “This Girl, ” Dilecious on “I Dont Care, ” and Wire on “Gyal Come Over. ” The short lineup gives the riddim a tight, almost showcase-style feel, with no wasted space and no filler between cuts. “Gyal Come Over” sits in the middle of the sequence and reads like the most immediate tune of the bunch, while the other two tracks keep the same straight-ahead dancehall energy running through the set. Released in 2012, the project contains three tracks from three different artists.
