The Focus Riddim – Raw Moon Productions 2009
The Focus Overview
In 2009, several talented reggae artists came together on one powerful project. Fragga Ranks, known for his energetic delivery, brought his song "Focus" to the mix. Tom Laing, who later found success with his single "Finally Free" in 2013, added his voice with "Heavy Load." Ras Faracon - Pain Cry delivered the heartfelt "Pain Cry," showing the emotional side of reggae music. Shanti Reb offered "Lah - Be Not Afraid," while Cherry Rock contributed "Realm Of Life." Each artist brought their own style and message, making the project rich and diverse. The Focus Riddim project united these voices over a shared reggae rhythm, or riddim. This type of collaboration is common in reggae, where different artists record their own songs on the same instrumental backing. The result is a collection that highlights both the unity and the individuality of each performer. The riddim itself provided a steady, relaxed groove, allowing each singer to express their unique message. Other artists joined in as well, including Trodding with "Leopard," Anthony Cruz with "A Wha Dis," Lutan Fyah with "Buggu Yaga," Freddie McGregor with "Struggle," and Bigga Haitian with "Love Life." Freddie McGregor, a legend in reggae, brought extra attention to the project with his long history of hits like "Big Ship." This recording showed how reggae’s message and spirit stayed strong in 2009. By working together, these artists kept the music’s positive energy alive and shared it with listeners everywhere.
