Kemar Flava McGregor’s Sweet Riddim (Remasterd) arrived in 2016 as a reggae set built around a strong singer lineup, led by Beres Hammond’s See You Again, Etana’s Happy Heart, Freddie McGregor’s Keep On Coming Back and Marcia Griffiths’ When You Giving Your Heart. The release also brings in Gramps Morgan, Daville, Duane Stephenson, Richie Stephens, Peetah Morgan, Chuck Fenda and Ginjah, giving the riddim a mix of rootsy vocals and veteran names with plenty of crossover appeal. The project is credited to Kemar “Flava” McGregor, the Jamaican producer behind a long run of reggae riddims, and this remastered edition keeps the focus on warm melodies and conscious songs rather than heavy dancehall energy.
