Sweet Music Riddim Vol.2 (2012) – 7 Seals Records

Seven voices and one easygoing groove give Sweet Music Riddim Vol. 2 its shape, with 7 Seals Records lining up Difanga, Supa Maya, Avaran, Tairo, Fefe Typical, Yeahman C and Black Kymbo across a 33-minute set that arrived on November 19, 2012. The label had only been around since 2011, and by this point it was already pushing a cross-Caribbean reggae network, which you can hear in the mix of French, Creole and island-rooted deliveries here. Tairo’s “Un Bebe Toute Seule” and Fefe Typical’s “Jah Est Dissimule” carry the most weight, while Difanga opens things with “Tourner La Page” and Yeahman C closes the run with “Aime La Vie” before Black Kymbo’s megamix ties the whole thing together. The sequencing feels deliberate, moving from straight vocal cuts into a final recap that underlines the riddim’s message and gives the project a neat, compact finish.
