Sunlight Riddim (2013) – M2r

M2R’s Sunlight Riddim leans more into a compact reggae showcase than the bigger, busier dancehall sets the name might make you expect, and that tighter frame gives the tunes room to breathe. Biddy and Wuk Up open things with “Love Mi Up, ” while Trigger gets two passes at “Bout It” in clean and raw versions, a nice little detail that lets the same song hit from two angles; Kyon’s “My Love” keeps the mood smooth and melodic over a bright, sun-washed groove that never gets too heavy. The set is short and to the point, with five cuts total and a version tucked at the end, so it plays like a neat 2013 roots-reggae package rather than a sprawling compilation.
