“Sufferah” leans into a slow, bass-heavy modern roots pulse, and Sherkhan keeps the arrangement lean enough that the singers carry the weight. Jah Mason’s “Babylon A Rise, ” Lutan Fyah’s “Poverty, ” and Teflon’s “Bun Dung” are the cuts that latch on quickest, while Norris Man and Little Devon both bring that same hard-edged consciousness the riddim is asking for. Sherkhan, the French producer behind Tiger Records, was already moving in this lane by 2008, and this one sits neatly alongside his earlier “Dead U Dead” and the later “Arena” work: focused, singer-friendly, and built for dubplate value as much as replay.
