STREET SWING RIDDIM produced by IN THE STREETZ RECORDS 2006
Street Swing Overview
The Street Swing Riddim was a key reggae compilation released in 2006. It offered a warm, upbeat sound that made it popular in reggae parties and dancehall sets that year. Compared to other riddim compilations from 2006, Street Swing Riddim stood out for its lively percussion and smooth, laid-back vibe. Many other riddims of the era were either heavier or more electronic, but this one kept a classic reggae feel with bright, sunny tones. The compilation brought together several well-known reggae artists. Bunny Rugs, famous for being the lead singer of Third World and for hits like “Now That We Found Love,” performed “Ill Be There For You.” Fanton Mojah, who is known for his hit “Hail The King,” added “From The Very First Time.” Gyptian, who would later have international success with “Hold You,” sang “If You Really Love Me.” Jah Mason contributed “Wheat And Tares,” and Jeffrey Star appeared with “Over And Over.” Other featured tracks included Luciano with “Watch What You Doing,” Lutan Fyah’s “Never Stop Hail Rastafari,” and Sizzla’s “Chant Dem Down,” each adding their own style. IN THE STREETZ RECORDS produced the compilation. The label is known in Jamaica for working with top reggae and dancehall artists, and their riddims have been streamed by fans worldwide. Their careful production helped make Street Swing Riddim a favorite in 2006.
