Street Bullies Riddim produced by Big Yard Music 2009
Street Bullies Overview
Street Bullies Riddim began its journey in the heart of Kingston’s studios. The sound engineer, Lynford “Fatta” Marshall, shaped the riddim’s crisp base, giving it a strong street anthem feel. The project was led by Big Yard Music, a label founded by legendary producer Robert Livingston. Known for working with Shaggy on the Grammy-winning album "Boombastic," Big Yard Music brought together top talent for this release. As the riddim took shape, selectors and DJs were quick to notice its energy. The yard session tape became a favorite in 2009’s sound system clashes and parties. Each artist brought their unique style to the riddim. Shaggy’s "Long Time" stood out, adding his signature smooth delivery. Red Fox delivered "Bounce," bringing a playful vibe. Vybz Kartel, known for his chart-topping success and influence in dancehall, contributed "Slow Motion," giving the riddim a raw edge. Beenie Man, the "King of Dancehall" and winner of a Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album, gave fans "Humility." Elephant Man, famous for high-energy tracks, added "Poverty," which kept the crowd moving. The tape also featured Christopher Martin’s "Vibe Is Right," Cecile’s "Nah Stress Over Man," Lord Kossity’s "Like Me," and a dancehall remix of Michael Jackson’s "They Don’t Care About Us." Together, these tracks made Street Bullies Riddim a true yard session classic in 2009.
