Stemz Riddim – Fire Royal Records

Dusty-club energy here, with Stemz Riddim leaning into that late-2010s dancehall juggling feel Fire Royal Records was pushing in 2019. The set runs lean and straight to the point: Binelly turns up twice with “Rich, ” Ras Oneilly does the same on “Ready Tonight, ” and the other cuts keep the pressure on with Hostyle’s “Lifestyle, ” K1 Ecentral’s “Clarks, ” Shawn J’s “Fake Frenz, ” and Veli’s “Tun It Up. ” At just over 20 minutes for eight tracks, it moves like a quick street-side burst rather than a big statement piece, and that suits the riddim’s clipped, no-nonsense pulse. The strongest pull comes from Ras Oneilly’s “Ready Tonight, ” which gives the project its most polished ride and leaves the whole thing on a sharper edge.
