Bricks Riddim – 77 Star Rise Records

Late-summer heat: Bricks Riddim came out in 2019 as King I Music’s first riddim EP on his 77 Star Rise label, and it keeps the focus tight with just four cuts around a positive dancehall mood. MoniKa’s “Top Shelf” and King I Music’s “Not Perfect” sit alongside Khari Kill’s “Too Loud, ” with the producer slotting in the instrumental “Bricks Riddim” itself at the end. The sequencing feels deliberate, almost like a short showcase reel for the label’s sound rather than a crowded compilation, and the presence of Trinidadian veteran Khari Kill gives the set a little extra weight. 77 Star Rise Records handles the production.
