Session (2013) Release Details

Straight out of Trinidad’s Carnival season in early 2013, Session Riddim catches that tight, forward-driving soca pulse Sheriff Music was pushing at the time: lean percussion, a bright synth line, and just enough room for the vocals to ride the groove cleanly. Blaxx’s “Jammin’” is the loose-limbed crowd mover here, while Bunji Garlin turns “Send Woman” into the kind of sharp, road-ready cut that always finds a place in fete rotation. Rayza’s title track keeps the energy focused and gives the riddim its own identity rather than letting it drift into generic party fare. With only three vocal cuts and a compact runtime, this one sits nicely in that wave of early-2010s Trinidad productions that favoured quick, hooky carnival ammunition over overstuffed compilations.
