Rumors Riddim – Mash Works Studios

Three tracks, three different angles, and that’s really the charm of Rumors Riddim. Mash Works Studios kept it lean in 2017, letting Dezy X’s “Outta Control” lean into the title’s restless energy while Mr GoldN’s “So Free” has a brighter, looser feel that fits the soca lane nicely. PPM’s “Can’t Wait” rounds it out with the kind of impatient hook that makes these small riddim packages easy to replay. It’s a short set, but that was part of the appeal in the middle of a busy 2017 soca season: no excess, just a quick burst of island-ready songs with enough personality to separate each cut.
