Ruff Death Riddim – Brilly Production

Ruff Death hits with a grim, streetwise pulse: hard-edged dancehall built for the kind of clash energy where the bassline does half the talking. Brilly Production keeps the rhythm tight and lean, and the little cast of voices rides that tension well, from Ala Pap’s blunt “Badness” and Eesah’s “Squeez Pan Dem” to Jr Pinchez on “Death Bed” and Moni’s nod to “Christopher Coke. ” Faithfull, Ras Ash and Rtadax fill out the set without softening the mood, so the whole thing feels like a compact 2019 slice of the darker, gunman-leaning dancehall wave that was still moving through the dance at the time.
