RELOAD RIDDIM produced by PENTHOUSE RECORDS 1999
Reload Overview
Behind many of dancehall’s most memorable moments is a skilled producer. Penthouse Records is one of these important studios. Founded in Jamaica in the late 1980s by Donovan Germain, Penthouse Records built a strong reputation for quality and creativity. The label is known for helping to shape the sound of modern dancehall and reggae, working with some of the biggest names in the business and producing songs that have reached fans worldwide. On the “Reload Riddim,” Penthouse Records brings together a group of standout artists. Each one adds their own style, helping to create a bashment flow that carries the raw energy dancehall fans love. Alley Cat’s “You Ago Make It” delivers a message of hope, while Nadine Sutherland’s “Front Page” shows her unique voice and storytelling skills. Beenie Man brings his signature flair to “Reel Out,” and the team of Mr. Vegas/T.O.K adds their own twist to the same riddim with their version of “Reel Out.” T.O.K keeps the vibe strong with “Don’t Let Her Stray.” Other artists also help to shape the riddim’s sound. Delly Ranks brings fun with “Sexy Fat Gal,” and Chaka Demus & Pliers add their classic touch on “Miss Fine.” Hawkeye’s “Wife Material” and Buju Banton’s “Mix Up” show the range of topics dancehall can cover. Tanto Metro & Devonte close things out with “Aim For Your Goals,” a song full of motivation. The bashment flow on this release is a key piece of dancehall history. It shows how producers and artists together can create music that lasts for years.
